Constitution Hill Blogs

Telling stories from the people, about the people, for the people is what blogs represent at Constitution Hill. This is a great way to connect with our audiences, whether they are providing the stories, or they read about people just like them, or those they look up to, as well as great initiatives, projects, and events that take place at the Hill. This is one of the top projects I get to run and facilitate.

Content Curation & Creative Design for Social Media & Website: Constitution Hill

Constitution Hill is a living museum that tells the story of South Africa’s journey to democracy. The site is a former prison and military fort that bears testament to South Africa’s turbulent past and, today, is home to the country’s Constitutional Court, which endorses the rights of all citizens. I co-create the content and design the creative that goes up on the social media platforms; Facebook; Instagram; & Twitter. I also manage updating, uploading content for the website. This also includes major events like the Human Rights Festival (Creative, Content Curation, and partner relations).

Basha Uhuru Creative Uprising

This flagship creative arts festival provides a platform that would facilitate the broad spectrum of artistic expression for young emerging professionals and entrepreneurs in the creative industry.

The festival is an opportunity to learn and be inspired, share skills and nurture talent, network and collaborate, create, and monetize whilst driving important conversations affecting the creative sector.

I do social media and community management for all the platforms as well as co-designer of the creative collateral all shown on the various platforms: Facebook; Twitter, and Instagram.

Curated Makers Market

WHERE THE VERY BEST OF LOCAL HANDCRAFTED GOODS CAN BE FOUND!

The Curated Makers Market was a monthly market that showcases the talent of local independent artisans, designer-makers, and unique small businesses. Curated Makers @Constitution Hill is the destination to explore and discover beautiful unique products, all created with local magic. They curate each market to give creative and unique businesses a platform to shine. You can expect to find a variety of handmade goods, art, craft, ceramics, jewellery, homeware and textiles from a wide selection of talented creatives. Visitors get a chance to hear the stories and passion as they meet these talented Makers.

Now the market is featured in ConHill's Signiture events annually - Human Rights Festival | Basha Uhuru Freedom Festival & More.

Basha Uhuru Freedom Festival returns for 12th edition

The spotlight has been on artists and creatives this week as Constitution Hill is a hive of activity with artists, creatives and key industry stakeholders for the Basha Uhuru Freedom Festival. Returning for its 12th year this year under the theme “Celebrating 30 Years Creative Freedom”, the festival has become one of Gauteng’s biggest youth arts events. A range of other activities have taken place from the 27th of June with art exhibitions, creative conferences, a film festival and curated markets, and will close with the ‘Sounds of Freedom Music Festival’. Artists such as Kabza De Small, Morda Bongz, Sjava and Holly Rey will take the stage to celebrate a successful run.
